Olivia's favorite shorts

What i love about Olivia is that she reuses pieces but still manages to create different outfits everytime! One of the things she loves to wear are black shorts. Olivia: "Don’t spend much on trendy pieces. Invest in items that will make your style grow.” I picked out 3 outfits where she's wearing her favorite pair of black shorts, which one do you prefere?

The first outfit is very classic. She's wearing all black items but creates dimension by opting for a sheer blouse. The silver jewellery keeps the outfit fresh.

The second look is a bit more playful. She brings summer into her outfit by wearing the dvf Mala floral blouse and emphasizes the yellow in the blouse with a yellow clutch. The golden jewellery gives the outfit a warm glow. She chose black sandals instead of pumps which adds to the summer feel.

The last look is the most serious one. She looks smart and chic wearing a black and white outfit. Behind the sweet smile you can read the message: "don't mess with this girl".

Who wore it best?

Who can wear a topshop sweater and make it look much more expensive? Yes indeed, Olivia can! And now the difficult part: How to do this? "Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!" is the correct answer. She manages to look hot in a baggy sweater by wearing black leggings and peep toe heels that show off her red vampy nail polish. Normally I wouldn't recommend mixing two prints, but I think the zebra striped scarfe doesn't harm the outfit. By keeping her make-up simple the bold necklace doesn't seem too much. Or do you think I'm wrong and prefere the more casual way of dressing up by Mary-Kate Olsen?

Mary-Kate wears her topshop sweater with a pair of gladiator sandals, Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses and a bright handbag.

What concerns accessorizing, i think Olivia is definitely the one who's gonna win this little battle. ... I mean, what better way to spice up your outfit than with a male model by your side? ;)
Or are you the kind of girl that preferes a rocker boyfriend with an "I just got out of bed" look?

JULY NEWS

Wanted to keep you in the loop with what I've been up to.

As you know, I you have read my previous entries, I’m planning to devote much time to market my work in the upcoming months, so at the moment I’m mostly preparing some marketing tools to promote my screenplays.
Did you know that I had written around 10 short screenplays, that I have never promoted? Well, I did not remember of it, myself. I started to take a look at this past work a few days ago, fixed the little issues and start marketing them too. We all know short screenplays are not the right tool to earn money, but they are the right ones to have your name on a screen, in festival and promote yourself.

Much more recently I have turned down several books adaptations proposals over artistic and financial conflicts, one of the possible work for hire was a book adaptation for a novel in the vein of the DaVinci Code but the writer wanted something that was too religion-oriented, and it’s not my cup of tea. Moreover, I prefer to take on innovative projects, and this has been seen numerous times in the past, I don’t think any producer (especially in USA) is going to look at another DaVinci code now!

So, I’ve chosen to work on my own screenplays ideas, at the moment, of course I’m still considering new proposals.
If you are a regular visitor to my website: www.jordantate.net you have certainly read news announcing the completion of an outline for a thriller: I’ve been working on the first rough draft of the script during the past few weeks, and I’m now close to wrapping the screenplay.
Of course, as we all know, rewriting is the key to a great screenplay, so I’ll probably have much more to do in the upcoming weeks.
I’ll start the rewriting process in September with fresh new eyes, that’s when you see all the awkward details, all the useless scenes, the gauche dialogues and plot holes. It very important to take some time off in between the rewrites.

I have also written down several ideas (actually around 20) for some science fiction, adventure and horror screenplays.
Some of course, are already doomed to the trash basket, but some others begin to take shape in my head and will most likely become a screenplay. I read news paper and true life stories almost everyday, a process that became an essential part of my inspiration.

I hope to post some great news on my creations progresses soon.

Thank for following my screenwriter journey!

Jordan.

déjà vue

When i saw this outfit, it reminded me a lot of the chanel style. This outfit breaths class and elegance, and gives you a Saint-Tropez kind of feeling. The silhouette is so simple, yet so luxurious. Timeless beauty.

Back to Business

Olivia is a career girl, that's why she wants to look strong and confident. By mixing a no-nonsense polished appearance with a certain elegance, her outfits scream 'sophisticated'. Olivia reinvented the black trouser suit. She gives this conservative outfit a more fashion-forward feeling by adding a sparkling clutch, brooches, and red nail polish.

all-in-one: the jumpsuit!

From short to long, strappless, glamorous silk to humble cotton, Olivia has one in every shape, leg length, and colour: the jumpsuit! When it comes to wearing jumpsuits, Olivia's style is less complicated. She just adds a pair of killer heels and golden jewelry, that's it. Love them or hate them?

accident

if you're following me on twitter, you probably know that yesterday i sliced my finger during a stupid accident (they all are), it bleed profusely and i'll be unable to use the keyboard during a few days, since it's my right hand and my finger is bandaged. I was writing a new blog entry, just a few minutes before it happened, and i haven't finished it, so you'll have to wait a little longer to read my news.

Here is a little recollection in black and white, but you must be a die hard fan to enjoy this picture! lol

50's making a comeback!

The popular cat eye sunglasses style has made its way back onto the fashion scene. Olivia Palermo has been spotted sporting a pair of Tom Ford Anouk sunglasses. The warm colours of her 1950's inspired sunglasses add a more luxurious feeling to this retro look.

Flower Power

When summer is in town, Olivia likes to wear flower prints. By combining this dvf Mala floral blouse with a black vest and shorts she makes the outfit less girly and more sophisticated. Perfect for a day full of shopping fun or a day at the office!

Nude the new black?

There's no doubt that nude is the colour of this season... A trend Olivia loves to follow.

A sparkling dress and a 'natural' pose for the camera.

A more golden version of the nude dress.

I love the topshop shoes and the strapless nude-coloured dress with little pockets, but i'm afraid her skin tone is a little too pale to wear the dress like that. There's not enough contrast. Or do you think she can pull it off like this?

Olivia keeps the nude look interesting by combining the dress with one of her favorite clutches (see 2nd outfit of this post), high heels and jacket from topshop.

A more casual version of the trend: a see-through nude-coloured blouse with a simple jeans. Less is more!

She even compares a nude dress with a broom handbag.

This last look is definitely my favorite. A simple, nude-coloured dress by Zac Posen brightened up with a nice piece of jewellery. The blazer makes sure she doesn't look washed out by the nude colours. And here they are again: her favorite
YSL tribute sandals! Classy!

once you go black...

Olivia loves black. But she always manages to brighten things up with colourful or sparkling accessories.

Besides yellow shoes and purses, Olivia's favorite accessory is her German-born model boyfriend Johannes Huebl. (his nickname: 'Joe Hotness') The two have been dating for several months now. It seems like Olivia not only chose a good man, but also a matching closet. They always look so good together!

Olivia's apartment

Olivia lives in a one-bedroom apartment on the 10th floor of a 21-story development on Leonard Street in Tribeca. She decorated the place together with her mother, Lyn Hutchings, a partner at interior design firm Hutchings-Lyle. Her apartment has a "1960s look with a classic old Hollywood feel". (see article)

Her trademark: oversized necklaces

One of Olivia's favorite pieces as of late is an eye-catching necklace. She likes to wear it with both dressy and casual outfits.

Olivia's street style

Olivia is a master at mixing designer items (just love her Birkin bag), inexpensive pieces (her favorite: top shop), and vintage articles to establish her sophisticated, polished style. Wherever she goes, stylish is her middle name...
