HELP BAN CANADIAN SEAL FUR IMPORTS

Compassionate citizens around the globe have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stop Canada's annual slaughter of baby seals. But we need you to take swift action, and to ask your friends, family, local shop owner and everyone else you know to take part as well.

PETA Europe is calling on MEPs across Europe to vote for a permanent ban on the trade of seal products from Canada's annual seal slaughter.

In a few short weeks, Canada's ice floes will be a scene of carnage. Hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals will be shot or beaten over the head with primitive clubs, impaled with metal hooks and have the skin ripped off their bodies. An estimated 205,000 seals were violently killed this way in 2008 alone, and this year the quota has increased to a staggering 280,000 individuals.

Right now, the European Parliament is actively considering a complete ban on the trade of skins from seals who are slaughtered anywhere in the world. Canadian hunters say that if the ban is passed, it will make the annual seal "harvest" a "non-viable industry". PETA Europe is already targeting MEPs, demanding that they speak up for seals by backing the proposed law. At the same time, protests against the Canadian government, some organised by PETA Europe, are now going on around the globe.

What You Can Do
The critical vote is set to take place in mid April, so action is needed now! Write to your local MEPs and ask them to show their compassion by voting for a complete ban. Then, share this important news with everyone you know and urge them to write to their MEPs as well. In order to stop the annual slaughter, our voices must be raised loud and strong.

Sincerely,

PETA

How to Write a Biopic Screenplay | eHow.com

Very interesting article, for those, who are interesting in writing a chronicle on someone they admire. Personally, writing "the adventurer" has been one of the most thrilling experiences i have had as a screenwriter. I'm impatient to promote it.

UPDATE: THE ADVENTURER

I finally got to complete "the adventurer" corrections, the notes of my dear friend and wonderful proofreader Terry, have been extremely useful, and i would like to thank him for this.
He has done an exceptional job, correcting my typos, grammar and the script format very promptly and honestly.
Thanks Terry! I'll be writing the short synopsis and log line for the screenplay submission in the upcoming days.

BUSY DAY AHEAD

I'm having a busy day ahead today, despite i'm still suffering from this cold, and feeling very groggy, i really need to work to set my mind off things.
My friend and writer, Jodi Raven Hawk, recently hired me to find publishers in Europe, for her short story "Earth friends", we can feel in each of her messages, the passion she has for this piece of work, and i hope i'll be able to find the right magazine and publisher for her "baby".

Also, i still have some corrections left on The adventurer and "crusaders" (working title).Terry, my proofreader sent me his notes a few weeks ago, and i have been so busy with answering messages, meeting people and writing on assignment, that i still haven't finished the corrections the screenplay needs to be submitted to agents and producers.
Also, i hope to put the final touch to this new draft of animation screenplay earth friends.

Hope your first days of spring are bringing you pleasure and joy!

Vatican To Urge Angels & Demons Boycott?

23 March 2009 5:10 AM, PDT

Officials at the Vatican are allegedly planning to authorise a boycott of upcoming movie Angels & Demons.

The picture, which stars Tom Hanks, is the prequel to 2006's The Da Vinci Code, based on the bestselling novel by Dan Brown, and is due for release this summer.

Church officials previously called for a boycott of Hanks' first outing in the thriller series - and now it looks as if the second movie in the franchise will also cause controversy because of its religious overtones, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Vatican's officials newspaper, Avvenire, ran a story on Friday, stating that Catholic Church "cannot approve" of the movie, with another Italian publication La Stampa, warning that officials will call for a boycott ahead of the film's release in May.

The story is set in Rome, but filming was held up after Vatican officials refused the crew permission to shoot in the religious site and at several other important locations in the city.

Angels & Demons is set to open worldwide on 15 May.

Natasha Richardson

A few words to pay a tribute to this wonderful actress(seen in Nell) and woman, who sadly passed away a few days ago following skiing accident. Natasha Richardson was the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and the wife of Liam Neeson, memorable Schindler in "Schindler's list".
I'm feeling very sad for her and her family.
