Elton John's Black and White Ball

Let's just take a moment to celebrate that Bea, Eugenie and Fergie ALL look good here. This is a very rare occurrence and therefore like a lunar eclipse.... or the Maple Leafs winning something it's important we just take a moment of silence to honor this moment.

Alright..... now I can take Fergie or leave her in this photo. I'm just pleased that food's not falling out of her clutch at this point/ she's not trying to sell her story simultaneously to having this photo taken. The woman doesn't know how to dress, never has, never will. So moving on to the girls who do have the hope of fashion redemption in their future (as proven by this image). Beatrice looks stunning. I love the color, the cut- everything. I realize that it's similar to the color that she wore to the royal wedding BUT it's softer and with more texture plus altogether more flattering generally. Now Eugenie has FINALLY found something that works. The Vivienne Westwood at the royal wedding was a mess. The color was totally wrong the cut was possibly the most unflattering thing to grace gods green earth- it was HIDEOUS (I know, do I ever hold back?!). Anyways she's finally found something that works- red draped- Vivienne Westwood. Albeit it is the second she has worn in as many weeks. Hopefully she will branch out into other colors but regardless at least it looks nice and doesn't assault my eyes!

And if you need a refresher as to what Eugenie wore at Ascot.... check it out here.

Princess Beatrice at the Chelsea Flower Show, a vision in Roland Mouret

It is too bad that the Chelsea Flower Show and Kate's first official duty (since becoming a royal) coincided as it would have been lovely to see this dress get a bit more press.

Today while Kate was doing her usual high street shtick in Reiss Princess Beatrice showed us how old school royalty rocks a frock.  As Lenny Cole said in RocknRolla "there's no school like the old school, and I'm the fucking headmaster." Well I doubt Princess Bea swears but that's certainly the attitude here as she pulls off this Roland Mouret dress. It is the kind of dress that would more likely be seen on Victoria Beckham, Carole Vorderman, Reese Witherspoon or Heidi Klum (or any number of celebrities who swear by Mr. Mouret's designs) than it would be on your average 22 year old (let alone a disciple of the high street) and the distinction between this dress and Kate's couldn't be more stark.

I don't mean to knock Kate's choice in frocks. You all know I ♥ her to bits BUT I can't deny I would really like to see her step it up. If she could just mix McQueen into her daily wardrobe, a pair of Jimmy Choos, a classic Mulberry Bayswater (I won't deny her loyalty to Prada rather bugs me)- goodness I would even settle for an Erdem blouse with a pair of MiH jeans. It's great that her wardrobe is accessible but I think every young girl would like if she mixed a bit of whimsy in there for however much she might tow the high street line, she will never again be a commoner and frankly her adherence to budget fashion is a bit of a slap in the face to those of us who would die to fly the flag for British designers (a breed arguably more in need of representation in this recession than the high street).

I apologize for the rant! Goodness knows I still adore her I just had to get that out there but let's conclude on a good note. As I pay tribute once again to a fabulous dress AND a royal who heeds my advice.

As I'd like to briefly touch on the fact that pursuant to my last blog about Bea she is choosing another jewel tone. Congratulations! Way to follow my advice darling!

Princess Beatrice slims down- Perhaps her appearance at the Royal Wedding is making her sick as well...

So Princess Beatrice has slimmed down since her last appearance. The tabloids attribute it to a diet which is high in water, vegetables and fruit combined with cardio.

The photo on the left shows Princess Beatrice at the polo event at Cowdray Park in West Sussex yesterday.

It was markedly similar to the dress that she wore two years ago; however her hair and size were considerably different.

They are both a far cry from how she appeared in a bikini on the beach of St. Barts in 2008. After that photo she made a conscious decision to lose weight after suffering severe public embarrassment (not a new even within the Windsor clan- her mother was nicknamed 'the Duchess of Pork'.... to be fair, in hindsight, it is probably one of the less hurtful things which has been said about her) over her unflattering size and appearance (see the picture below). Since 2008 she has run in numerous marathons to raise money for charity.

Her newfound dedication to physical fitness is shared by her sister Eugenie who decided to hold a bicycle scavenger hunt through London for her last birthday party.

Personally (although applauding her recently svelte appearance) I would put money on the fact that she  has been unable to eat due to the pubic mockery over the terrible fashion choices during the royal wedding. Unlike most fashion commentators I don't take issue with the hat. Beatrice has always had interesting interesting taste in hats and to be honest I didn't mind this one. What I minded was the color palette she chose. She never wears such pale clothing usually and not only was that not her color but the heavy dark eye makeup exacerbated the issue by making her skin tone appear paler than it actually was. It is a pity that she didn't pick a jewel tone similar to the one that she wore yesterday. (See below for a photo from yesterday of her with her American boyfriend, David Clark)
