Venus in furs

As a lead in to Mulberry's F/W 2012 catwalk show I wanted to share this November 2011 editorial, courtesy of Vogue China. Titled 'fabulous fur' it was shot by Peter Lindbergh and features the ever glamorous Edita Vilkeviciute.

Sometimes I forget what a fabulous fashion editorial model Ms. Vilkeviciute is, given her success with Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret; however, the girl looks as good in couture as she does in underwear or a bathing suit. The majority of Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret models have a specific look that is more commercial and therefore fails to translate into catwalk or couture; however, Ms. Vilkeviciute and Chanel Iman (and to some extent Candice Swanepoel) have succeeded where other angels have failed (perhaps most notably Behati Prinsloo and Lily Aldridge).

I thought that this editorial fabulously highlighted the glamorous and transformative nature of fur and why, despite ethical considerations to the contrary, it is still featured so heavily in the world of fashion.

Happiness through images (obviously not the kind that involve Lauren Goodger)

After seeing those TERRIBLE pictures of Lauren Goodger (to be fair is there any other kind...) I needed something to replace the feeling of sick in my mouth. Resultantly I have decided to post this editorial by my favorite photographer and featuring my all time favorite model.

So here it is: the editorial is titled 'Stardust' and features Edita Vilkeviciute. It was published in 'Numero' magazine and was photographed by Camilla Akrans.

I hope you all like it as much as I do.

Edita Vilkeviciute for Miss Dior Cherie

I can't not mention that this STUNNING campaign was shot by one of my favorite photoraphers- Camilla Akrans. An absolute genius behind the lens.

Edita Vilkeviciute Street Style

One of my favorite (if not THE favorite) models. This girl is just unstoppable. She has a face to die for, a face which is literally made for high fashion editorials and has therefore (unsurprisingly) made her a favorite for Vogue but she also has a figure I would literally kill for.... making her a favorite of Victoria Secret (who she has walked the runway for). She pretty much has the best of all worlds, OH! And have I mentioned her stellar style?! I like it unlike many models it is excessively clean cut and form fitting without veering on trashy (ahem.... Chanel Iman). Despite having one of the best racks in the business (and I mean that in the most flattering way possible) you would never guess it from how she dresses- which is in my opinion just as it should be! With legs like that you should leave something as a surprise (and what a surprise!).
