Early Lara Stone

I recently came across this editorial of Lara Stone from September 2009's issue of Numero and just fell in love. Shot by Karl Lagerfield (.... would you shoot be if I admitted that I like him better as a photographer as a designer?) and entitled 'Room Service Couture' I think it is not only an amazing example of how good Lagerfield is behind the lens, but also of Ms. Ston's sheer presence- even before the celebrity and super model status endowed their treasures on her. 

Venus in furs

As a lead in to Mulberry's F/W 2012 catwalk show I wanted to share this November 2011 editorial, courtesy of Vogue China. Titled 'fabulous fur' it was shot by Peter Lindbergh and features the ever glamorous Edita Vilkeviciute. 

Sometimes I forget what a fabulous fashion editorial model Ms. Vilkeviciute is, given her success with Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret; however, the girl looks as good in couture as she does in underwear or a bathing suit. The majority of Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret models have a specific look that is more commercial and therefore fails to translate into catwalk or couture; however, Ms. Vilkeviciute and Chanel Iman (and to some extent Candice Swanepoel) have succeeded where other angels have failed (perhaps most notably Behati Prinsloo and Lily Aldridge). 

I thought that this editorial fabulously highlighted the glamorous and transformative nature of fur and why, despite ethical considerations to the contrary, it is still featured so heavily in the world of fashion.

Kate the Great

Keeping with today's apparent K theme I had, had, had to share this stunning photo of the Great Ms. Moss from her March 2010 Harper's Bazaar editorial, titled 'kate the great'. Shot by Peter Lindbergh and styled by George Cortina I just adore this photo. She looks mature, sensual and just so effortlessly chic.

Shannan Click's nose: Magical or Michael Jackson-esque?

This image is from Elle's June 2011 editorial 'before night falls'. Shot by Dusan Relijin, styled by Rachel Zoe and featuring Shannan Click I decided to only include the one photo because I have to say I was more entranced by the oddity of Ms. Click's nose that either the styling or the compositions themselves. After looking at more photos of her I couldn't really decide if it was so tiny it was adorable or whether it was too Michael Jackson for my tastes. Thoughts?

Behati heats thinks up for Vogue Turkey

This editorial comes to you courtesy of the January 2011 issue of Vogue Turkey. Shot by Mariano Vivanco,  featuring Behati Prinsloo (one of my other current obsession- how adorable is she in the Spring/ Summer Victoria Secret campaign!!!!!) and styled by Mary Fellowes this editorial is exactly what I would like to be doing right now..... rather than sitting inside working whilst only catching meager sun rays on my journey outside for cigarettes.

Aline Weber: A Natural Beauty

This beautiful Beauty in Vogue editorial titled 'Tressage Sauvage' for Vogue Paris is the result of photographer Giampaolo Sgura, stylist Geraldine Saglio, hair stylist James Pecis, makeup artist Yadim and features Aline Weber.

Ms. Weber is one of my favorite young models of the moment. Reminiscent of a young  Claudia Schiffer the 22 year old Brazilian's stunning cheekbones, piercing eyes and profound versatility make her something to watch out for.

 In the last year Ms. Weber has showcased her profound versatility through her varied work. This season she walked the catwalk for the Fall/ Winter 2012 collections of Ports 1961, Michael Kors, Narcisco Rodgriguez, Rodarte, Preen, Peter Son, Helmut Lang, Lacoste, Victoria Beckham and Altozarra. She has appeared in the Spring/ Summer 2012 ad campaign for Mavi and the Fall/ Winter 2011 campaigns for Ellus Jeans, DKNY, Theory and Derek Lam. Since 2011 she has also appeared in editorials for Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, Vogue Espana, Vogue Japan,  Vogue Germany, V Magazine, Numero, Numero Tokyo, W Magainze, Russh, Another Magazine and Harpers Bazzaar Spain. Finally, since 2011 she has featured on the covers of  Vogue Brasil, Harpeer's Bazaar Spain, Russh and Numero.

Her natural beauty is even more obvious when the above photos are considered in conjunction with her Polaroids which were taken in 2010 by Women Management, found below.

 

Hot and heavy

Remaining in the vein of yesterday's editorial choice I've decided to pick another editorial which reminds me of Nigeria. So here were are with an editorial from Numero magazine titled 'Veneneuse and shot by Greg Kadel and featuring one of my FAVORITE models, Malgosia Bela. I feel like you can just feel the heat radiating off the pages and I love it!

Vogue's depiction of a summer in Scotland... sans midgies

So I wanted to post another Rosie Huntington- Whiteley editorial BUT I have some recent street style snaps and I thought that three R.H.W. themed blogs in two days would just be excessive SO I thought I would go for an editorial in the theme of R.H.W...... and what's more British than 'summer' fly fishing in Scotland?... albeit there are no signs of models slapping off midgies in these photos so perhaps it was shot elsewhere... REGARDLESS these photos are GORGEOUS and it brings back such happy memories of traipsing through Scotland, eating sandwiches on the side of the river and drinking.... lots and lots of drinking.... anyways I digress. This editorial was printed in Vogue China and is (fittingly) titled 'Fishing Day'. Enjoy....

GLOSS

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. This shoot which is apt because it was featured in the March 2011 edition of Love Magazine. Shot by Solve Sundbroe (one of my favs!) this is everything that I love. Vibrant, interesting and feminine. There's just something about it that jut seems to venerate the female form and I think that's what a fashion editorial should do. Also I just adore the color. It's so nice to see some bright hues which is why I thought I would take this opportunity to reproduce it as even though it was featured in the March edition it just SCREAMS summer to me!!!
