Anonymous premieres in London and Joely Richardson STEALS the show

So 'Anonymous' premiered yesterday at the 55th BFI London Film Festival held at the Empire Cinemas and Joely Richardson stole my heart. The woman is 46 and if just consistently age appropriate and gorgeous. I originally fell in love with her as a child (who didn't!) when she played Anita in 101 Dalmations, she was the perfect counter to the unforgettably evil Cruella Deville- played by Glenn Close. Then of course there was her role in The Patriot in 2000 where she again played the role wife (albeit she was Mel Gibson's sister in law but still she was a mother to his children and he later married her). THEN she played a wife twice more in two of my favorite shows. From 2003- 2010 she played Julia McNamara on Nip/ Tuck which she was simply fabulous on (it is a crime that despite being repeatedly nominated for Golden Globe  and Golden Satellite awards for her performance she failed to win one), then in 2010 she played Queen Catherine Parr on The Tudors in it's final season.

Anonymous represents in that case the first film I will see in which she is not portraying a wife and mother as she plays Queen Elizabeth the 1st (well the young Queen Elizabeth, her mother Vanessa Redgrave will be portraying the old Queen Elizabeth- so excited about that and loved Vanessa's outfit at the photo call). I cannot wait to see it and am super excited about the fact that she will soon hit our screens again in The Gild With The Dragon Tattoo as Anita Vagner, what an amazing (and well deserved year for Joely!). Enjoy the pictures below of the photo call and red carpet.
