Barbour ♥: The Quintessentialy British Coat

The Barbour: It screams British from the top of its lungs.

Mostly because it's just so darn practical. In what other country would the upper echelons of society embrace a coat with such a distinct odor, with such a shapeless appearance for the purposes of its utility and then make it almost a coming of age right for generations of sloane rangers and rahs.

I wanted to celebrate this coat through photo but it was a bit difficult to track down photos of people wearing them due to their inherently country purpose. But here's what I came up with. What you can see is a beloved, although smelly, coat embraced by all who can afford it and wear it without looking like a try hard.
Billi Piper (former pop star, Doctor Who Alum and Secret Diary of a Call Girl Star), Alexa Chung (fashion icon) and Coco Sumner (musician and daughter of the artist Sting).
Alexa Chung and Fearne Cotton.

Coco Sumner and Lily Allen.

Fearne Cotton showing that it's capable of so much more than just country of festival wear. It is London ready.

And finally, the Royal connection. The Royal family are HUGE fans of the Barbour coat and one of the greatest signs that Wills and Kate were on the path to marriage was when they were pictured together at Balmoral in matching Barbours walking and hunting.
